C'EST LA SOUS VIDE

A Review of The Flaming Buoy Filet Co.

And a Reply

THE REVIEW:

SOOOO DISAPPOINTING --- sous vide overload

After reading so many great reviews I was excited to dine here and experience my only "red meat" dinner during my 10-day stay in Florida. I ordered the filet mignon and lobster mac with a side of broccoli. The PLASTIC SMELL AND TASTE FROM THE SOUS VIDE on the broccoli and steak rendered the meal inedible - I am not kidding. And my son's sliders tasted like a frozen dinner. It is obvious that Elvis (or Darth Vader....) has left the building and the owners are either absent or oblivious. The staff was lovely but the food was HORRIBLE. To be fair I am a foodie and picky; however, both of my sons tasted the seasonless plastic broccoli and steak on my plate and had the same reaction. Odor and taste of plastic!! I can sous vide at home and do better than this every time. You should try Martins or Santiagos or El Salute or Cafe Sole.

Dear TravelMom4321,

Normally, I would spend an earnest amount of time responding to your review of The Flaming Buoy Filet Co., assuring you that, despite your foodie qualifications and unprecedented five star at-home rating, Sous Vide is something we have never done.

However, I must apologize for my brevity, because on the very day of your visit, we were honored with TripAdviser’s 2021 Travelers’ Choice Award for being in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide, consuming, as it were, the full of my attention.

But, we don’t Sous Vide.
